A beautiful decoration from the Hisham Palace, on display at the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem. The Hisham Palace or the Sword of Fajr is an archeological site from the early Arab period, located near the city of Jericho. Pillars, mosaics and sculptures were found at the site, showing that at least in the early Arab period, Arab art was greatly influenced by Greek-Byzantine art, as can also be seen in the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, and that the ancient Arabs had no problem using sculptures and pictures. The art and architecture in the palace are stunning in beauty,
