@ Montefiore Windmill, Yemin Moshe, Jerusalem, Israel
Montefiore Windmill is one of the icons of Jerusalem. The mill was built in 1857 where the Mishkenot Sha'ananim neighborhood, the first Jewish neighborhood outside the Old City walls, was built. The mill was designed to be a flour mill, and was part of Montefiore's project to help the old settlement (Jewish society in the Land of Israel before the 20th century) meet its own needs. This station has been demolished several times over the years and was recently renovated in 2012. Today, the windmill is home to the Visitors Center of Jerusalem Wineries (Agshah), and blends well with its magical and picturesque surroundings.
